Like in the first batch at Fuente Osmeña last Dec. 7, members and Omnilogy staff treated the children with some food and new clothes, entertained them with storytelling sessions and made them express themselves through paintings on cut illustration boards.

Like in the Nido TV commercial, incoming 2009 President Emi Rose R. Parcon said, “I smell like the street children, my hands got stinky, but I’m happy. We have made the children happy!”

Next: Concert on Dec. 19

About 20 of the Plaza children and those at Fuente will be gathered again by mid- afternoon on this Friday, Dec. 19, then be given a warm bath and new clothes, and will be brought to Marcelo B. Fernan Press Center theatre to rub elbows with the elite in Cebu’s society.

They will showcase their artworks and watch the “Christmas Tribute” concierto of Israeli Matan Porat and the performance of former street children in Minstrels Rhythm of Hope Ensemble from Paco, Manila.

Some 30 children in the care of Don Bosco Boys Home in Liloan town under Rev. Fr. Jun Paradiang, SDB, and 20 orphans from Missionaries for the poor in Sawang Calero will also watch the show.

The Christmas kick-off of “Bridging The Gap” will end on Dec. 27 when the Chapter and Omnilogy will give the orphans ion Sawang Calero a memorable “Christmas Moment.”

“Bridging The Gap” will still continue with more activities airmed at bridging the gap among people despite their differences until August 2009 to help promote the idea of “One Humanity” that Omnilogy promotes.
