Rico Bastida to lead multi-awarded JCI local organization in 2016

The 11th President

ricoEAST CAPITOL PENSIONNE, CEBU CITY (Sun 13 Sept 2015) – One of JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel’s charter members and a Past National President of the Philippine Junior Jaycees in 2005, Teodorico “Rico” Bastida was elected as the local organization’s 11th President. Rico, who joined seven other charter members on October 19, 2005 is set to lead JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel in 2016.

Rico, who is a Certified Securities Specialist and a concurrent Lecturer at the University of Cebu, is set to succeed the local organization’s 2nd female President in Idyll Liza Peroramas who is set to cap of her term with the upcoming JCI Philippines’ National Convention in Dagupan City that is set to be hosted by JCI Dagupan Bangus.

Bastida has been with the JCI organization since the late 90’s, having been a member of the University of Cebu Junior Jaycees. He is also no stranger in doing his part for volunteer work. Recently in the mid-2000’s, the incoming President spent the years from 2006 to 2009 working as an Organizational Development Advisor with the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and Organizational Management Advisor with the Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF) in Tanzania, East Africa.

This volunteer work provided him with the opportunity to learn how to implement the UN Millennium Development Goals. As an Organizational Development Advisor, Bastida facilitated in developing its strategic planning for the organization in 5 years (2007 – 2012) in line with United Nations Millennium Development Goals with TCCIA Mpwapwa Management Committee. With the ZIFF, he served as Lead Consultant in reviewing ZIFF Business Plan and Projects in line with United Nations Millennium Development Goals.

Also elected as members of the 2016 Board of Directors are Iris Vera Petralba, Cloyd Dedicatoria, Charlston Lenard Lim, Mark Anthony Bequilla, Patrick Henry Perez II and Michael Nicholas Malazarte.

Conducting the 2016 Elections were the members of the JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel Commission of Elections led by its Chairman, 2008 President Jolex Yu Lim. Serving as members were 2009 President and 2013 Central Visayas Regional Vice President Emi Rose Parcon and 2011 President Eli T. Espina.
