CEBU CITY (Tues 22 Oct 2013) – National artists and local bands are coming in together for “Ubec Unite: Rock for Bohol,” a benefit concert organized by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Cebu-Mactan Channel in partnership with KOA Tree House. The concert will happen on October 25, 7:00 PM at the KOA Tree House with entrance fee pegged at P100.
“Cebuanos never fail to unite during crisis, so does the music community,” said Idyll Liza Peroramas, event project chairperson and 2014 Vice President for Administration of the JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel.
“We are thrilled that a lot of artists and bands volunteered to play for this earthquake relief benefit concert. This is a great way to highlight recovery efforts and raise money at the same time,” added Peroramas.
National hiphop artist, Loonie, will be flying in from Manila to grace the concert. The prominent Cebuano rock band, Powerspoonz, will also perform for the event. In addition, the concert line-up includes Bethany, Budoy with the SIgbin Haus Sound System, Adrienne, Republicats, Brownbuds and Smooth Friction.
Owner of KOA Tree House and Powerspoonz frontman, Akit Po, immediately agreed to partner with JCI and offered his resources in this endeavor. As a veteran in the Cebu music scene, he believed that Cebuanos will support the benefit concert despite the short-notice invitation.
“We are grateful that volunteers and partners are stepping up to help Bohol communities impacted by the historic Bohol earthquake,” remarked Ryan Expeditus Andales, 2014 President of the JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel.
Monetary and in-kind donations will also be accepted during the event.
