Nationally-Awarded Sports Program “Do you have what it takes?” Bowling Fellowship with other JCI Local Organizations in Cebu

SM CITY CEBU BOWLING CENTER, Cebu City — With the support of incoming 2010 Central Visayas National Vice President Christopher Camba and members of JCI Cebu as well as incoming Presidents Marc Phua of JCI Mandaue, Edilberto Mendoza of JCI Cebu Sinulog and John Cabaral of JCI Cebu, JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel’s Temiong Vergel De Dios Week Bowling Fellowship was deemed a smashing success.

Leading the way for JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel was 2010 President-elect Marlon Ariel Polinar and 2009 President Emi Rose Parcon. With a total participation of thirty-three (33) confirmed attendees, the fellowship fulfilled its purpose of strengthening the bonds of friendship, camaraderie and brotherhood among four of the most active local organizations in JCI Philippines.

The “Do You Have What It Takes” Bowling Fellowship series has long been a staple for JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel members, it being a monthly sports program which the members have wholeheartedly conducted the past three years. It was given merit as the Best Sports Development Program during the 59th JCI Philippines National Convention held in Cebu City two years ago.

The activity marked the second day of a weeklong stream of events that JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel outlined as it observed its 4th Anniversary Celebration while giving honor to the man who started JCI in Asia, dubbing it the Artemio “Temiong” Vergel De Dios JCI Week from October 18-25, 2009.

The Bowling Fellowship gave credence to the JCI tenet “That brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations” as JCI members mingled and enjoyed the night amidst a healthy atmosphere of competition trying to come up with the most number of pinfalls per local organization.

Incoming president Marlon Polinar served as the project chairperson for day while new member and former University of San Carlos Junior Jaycee Karlo Angelo “Kimo” Cea serves as the over-all project chairperson for the weeklong celebration. 2007 Presidential batchmates Angelo Daniel Parcon of JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel and Jose Marie Ponce of JCI Cebu Sinulog were also present as well as 2008 Presidential batchmates Jolex Yu Lim of the host local organization and F. Constantine Yu of JCI Cebu.

National Convention Women’s Division champion Cristina Hitutua of Cebu-Mactan Channel also lent her bowling prowess once again in a sign of support for the event.

Brotherhood of Man
